Naked City's debut album, Naked City was my first Zorn album. A brutal mish mash of genres, the album includes covers from film soundtracks, rocked out jazz and a few  This is a tight-as-hell, leave no prisoners, whacked out album, and one of the best in the Zorn discography. This album would definitely be much more appealing to the general listener than Naked City's other material. The album has a sense of humor that isn't apparent in albums like Grand Guignol and Absinthe, a dual irony and seriousness that is characterisic of a lot of Zorn's work. It serves as a good introduction to both Naked City and Zorn. Highly recommended.
